GENERAL INFORMATION
Designed for the purpose of being easily connected and disconnected from a 12 vdc power source of your choice, the ePack may be the most versatilve power accessory to come along in quite a while.
Now you can have a top quality connector interface for all your astro accessories that connects to a battery of your choice. If one night you want to connect to a a 10 amp 12 vdc battery, you can. If you want to take the ePack to a one week star party and connect it to a 100 amp battery, you can. There are no limitations. If your battery dies, you no longer have to rebuild your battery or throw the whole device out. The ePack can simply be reconnected to a new battery using the optional (but necessary) power cables.
The ePack comes in three versions, the #208-EPK-12 ePack 12 with seven 12 volt outputs, #208-EPK-15 ePack 15 with six 12 volt outputs and one output dedicated to 15 volts and the #208-EPK-18 ePack 18 with six 12 volt outputs and one output dedicated to 18 volts. IMPORTANT NOTE: When buying the 15 volt and 18 volt ePacks, you will have to purchase one of our 15 volt or 18 volt power cords so that you may be able to connect to this output. Power hook-up cables are purchased separately and are required to connect the ePack to a power source.
We offer three versions of power hook-up cables.
They are:

All the ePack power hook-up cables come with a snap-on Anderson Powerpole Pak connector that attaches to the ePack power input connector.
The cables are colour coded: black for negative and red for positive.
The cables have been designed to make reverse polarity hookup impossible.
All cables are about 3' (1 meter) long.

Designed primarily for two purposes:
1. For use in an observatory or in a situation where you would prefer to permanently mount the Power Pod.
2. For use by someone who may prefer not to have something as high end as the ePack or requires fewer connectors.
Now you can have a top quality connector interface for your astro accessories that can connect to a battery or power supply of your choice. If one night you want to connect to a a 10 amp 12 vdc battery, you can. If you want to take the Power Pod to a one week star party and connect it to a 100 amp battery, you can. These batteries are for those who demand the most of a portable battery and want it to have high end features. The 2081 has 2 cigarette lighter jacks and the 2082 has 4, each one individually fused with a quality circuit breaker. There is an LCD display to indicate remaining voltage. Pressing the red button next to the display will give the state of charge of the battery.
The power jacks have permanently attached plastic caps that will flip closed to keep dirt out of the jacks when not in use.
The cordura carry bags have a couple of bult in pockets to accomodate various batttery accessories, such as cables or the charger.
These Power Packs have the muscle to meet the demands of the modern amateur astronomer / imager. They are rugged, beautifully made and dependable. With proper care they will last for 5 years or 500 charges, whichever comes first. A battery float charger is included with these batteries.
The included charger will never overcharge your battery and may be left plugged into the battery for extended periods of time without harming the battery. We offer an optional 6 amp float charger that will charge the #2082 battery in 5 to 6 hours (not recomended for the #2081). Customers outside of North America will need to choose a battery charger with a plug that is appropriate for their country (see the shopping cart below).

Many GoTo mounts run best when provided with voltages greater than 12 vdc. These Power Packs have a built in inverter that will invert the electricity of one output to, depending on which unit you buy, 15 or 18 volts dc.
The 15 or 18 volt output has a special plug to prevent accidentally plugging in an accessory that should only be used at 12 volts. To use the 15 or 18 volt output of these units, you will require one of our special cables. These cables can be seen a little further down this page. We have stock cables for Astro Physics, Meade LX200 Classic telescopes, Losmandy Gemini GM8/G11 EQ mounts and Takahashi mounts. If you have a mount that requires, or works best at 15 or 18 volts and you do not see a cable for it here, please contact us. We can make cables for most of the scopes and EQ mounts on the market.
These Power Packs are built using the same quality components we use in our #2081 and #2082 Power Packs.

These heavy duty power packs have been designed for those of you who need a lot of dependable power in the field.
The battery is built into a very rugged "Explorer" Case. It has a removable lid. The power towers come with a retractable handle and built in wheels for easier transportation.
We offer three versions of the Titan Power Tower:
A standard 12 volt version (all outputs put out 12 volts dc).
A 15 volt version (one output puts out 15 vdc, all others are 12 vdc).
A 18 volt version (one output puts out 18 vdc, all others are 12 vdc).
4 USB ports are built in.
The 15 volt or 18 volt versions have a special plug to prevent accidentally connection of an accessory that should only be used at 12 volts. To use the 15 or 18 volt output on these units, you will require one of our special cables. These cables can be seen here. We have 15 volt cables for Astro-Physics EQ Mounts and 18 volt cables for Meade LX200 Classic telescopes and Losmandy Gemini and Gemini II EQ mounts. If you have a mount that requires, or works best at 15 or 18 volts and you do not see a cable for it here, please contact us. We can make cables for most of the scopes and EQ mounts on the market.
An 8' automobile booster cable is included with each Titan Power Tower. The booster cable connects to the large grey Anderson connector seen at the bottom of the panel. This booster cable can also be used to connect another battery in parallel to give your Titan even greater amperage.
The Titan Power Towers are built using the same quality components we use in all our batteries.
These units are contructed on site at our location in Toronto.

This is a stand-alone inverter that will convert 12 vdc to 15 (for Astro Physics mounts) & 18 vdc (for Meade classic, Losmandy Gemini and Gemini II and Takahashi mounts). This is an excellent product for anyone who already owns a battery and needs to provide 15 or 18 volt power to a GoTo telescope or mount.
These inverters are not susceptable to fluctuating battery voltages that can be caused by fluctuating power demand. The inverter voltage will remain constant.
Simply plug the inverter into a cigarette lighter socket on your battery and the inverter will change the 12 volts on your battery to 15 or 18 volts, depending on which inverter you purchase.
This is the same inverter that is built into our 2081-18, 2081-15, 2083 and 2083-15 batteries.
This device will require the purchase of one of our specialized power cables to power your telescope mount. The power cable goes from the inverter to your telescope mount's power plug. The link to the power cables is here.

CHARGING YOUR BATTERY
|
|
|
IMPORTANT NOTE: Do not discharge your Kendrick battery below 11.6 volts as it may be damaged internally. When charging the battery, be sure to plug the charger into the battery first, then into a wall socket. Failure to do this will result in the battery failing to charge.
The charger will never overcharge the battery and may be left plugged into the battery for extended periods of time without harming the battery. We have a 6 amp float charger available that will charge the 2082 or 2084-33 battery in 5 to 6 hours (not recomended for the 2081 or 2084-12). Customers outside of North America will need to choose a battery charger with a plug that is appropriate for their country (see the shopping cart below).
NEVER use an automotive charger to charge these batteries. It will ruin the battery. Automotive chargers charge at a higher voltage than other battery chargers. If the charger charges at 14.8 volts or higher, the electrolyte will begin to turn to gas and ruin the battery. In a normal car battery this is not a problem as the battery can be topped up. In a sealed battery (which ours is) the electrolyte that turns to gas will be vented through its seals and cannot be replaced."

WARRANTY
|
|
|
Customers are strongly encouraged to inspect and test their battery immediately upon receipt. Check to make sure it is fully charged, that the LCD display works correctly, that the charger works properly.Also, be sure to continue to check the voltage for several days after receiving it. It should hold its voltage. If it does not, contact Kendrick.
The battery is under warranty for three months from date of shipping. The rest of the battery pack is under warranty for 6 months after the date of purchase. Consequential damages for malfunctions, resulting from accident, misuse, abuse, failure to follow operating instruction, or unauthorized repairs will void this warranty.
Every battery is shipped in a heavy duty shipping box. Customers are requested to keep this box for the warranty period in case the battery should ever need to be returned for maintenance or warranty replacement. BATTERIES MUST BE RETURNED IN THEIR ORIGINAL SHIPPING BOX FOR WARRANTY REPAIRS/REPLACEMENT. Warranties for batteries will only be honored on batteries shipped in their original packaging.
